Dallas police gave an update and released body camera footage from the officer-involved shooting on Friday.

The shooting happened at the Mustang Inn along the South R.L. Thornton Freeway at approximately 12:21 p.m. on Wednesday, according to DPD.

Police officers say they had located 41-year-old Rual Casas using Flock technology. Casas was wanted on multiple felony warrants for narcotics and a probation violation.

Officers located Casas’s vehicle at the Mustang Inn and saw him briefly step outside the motel room before going back inside. An officer then directed Casas to come outside, according to DPD.

Police say Casas exited the room pointing a rifle at the officer. He was ordered to drop the weapon, but instead pointed it at another officer. At that time, an officer fired two rounds at Casas, striking him once.

Casas fell and dropped a handgun. He then picked it up and shot himself, police say.

Dallas Fire and Rescue attempted life-saving measures, but Casas was declared dead at the scene.

No officers were injured, according to reports.
