According to authorities, Grand Prairie Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire with two people possibly trapped inside in the 3600 block of Green Hollow Drive at approximately 04:48 a.m.

Crews saw the home fully engulfed in flames with a visible collapsing roof when they arrived at the scene.

After an initial search of the property, firefighters were able to find a man who was removed through a window. That man was taken to a localhospital in an unknown condition where he later died to his injuries.

Crews continued searching for the second person trapped after finding the first, but were forced to evacuate due to the structural integrity of the home failing with walls beginning to collapse, GPFD said.

A woman was found later and pronounced dead at the scene.

GPFD said one od their firefighters were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, but has since been released.
